2007 EEO Public File Report KSLT/KLMP/KTPT Bethesda Christian Broadcasting KSLT FM/KLMP FM/KTPT FM are religious broadcasters as defined by the regulations of the Federal Communications Commission. See 47 C. F. R. § 73.2080 (c)(1); Review of the Commission’s Broadcast and Cable Equal Employment Opportunity Rules and Polices, 17 FCC Rcd. 24018 (2002). As a religious broadcaster, Bethesda Christian Broadcasting established a religious qualification for all employee positions at KSLT/KLMP/KTPT. In accordance with the FCC’s rules, Bethesda Christian Broadcasting makes reasonable, good faith efforts to recruit applicants, without regard to race, color, national origin or gender, among those who are qualified based for employment on their religious belief or affiliation. We had 11 individuals attend. These individuals all received a tour of the facilities and were able to discuss any employment opportunities with the Station Manager, Sales Manager, Office Manager, Billing and Traffic Director, Engineer and KSLT Program Director. We received five applications for employment through this outreach. Positions that were vacant at the time included an Account Executive-Underwriter, Office Manager (both for our Sturgeon Bay, WI location), and part-time air personalities for KSLT and KLMP in Rapid City, SD. December 1, 2006 through November 30, 2007 – Office Internship – We offer an internship program where we tech individuals general office and computer skills. These skills may include receptionist duties of answering the phones, meeting and greeting walk-in customers, work on mailings, using the computer, doing some clerical work for the traffic department, and various other general office duties. We had ten individuals throughout the year who worked as interns. The interns worked a total of 521 hours. Civic group tours: April 3, 2007 – Countryside Community Church toured the studio. Four children and two adults learned about commercial production, scheduling, organization and placement. They heard their recorded voices and heard how we can modify and add sound effects. They also met employees in the office and learned a little about each employee’s job. Other activities: May 17, 2007 – Suzanne Happs, Program Director of KLMP hosted a lady from the Spearfish Middle School for the 7th Grade Job Shadowing. She joined in on preparing an air show, production of commercials, voice tracking and music scheduling. She had the opportunity to voice a commercial.
